China’s steelmaker Yunnan Yuxi Yukun Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. will construct two new 120-ton ladle refining furnaces, as approved by the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission on June 20, 2025.

These furnaces will have a combined annual processing capacity of 2.6 million tons of molten steel and will be built in two phases.

The first phase involves installing one 120-ton ladle furnace along with all necessary supporting infrastructure, including power supply, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, communication, ventilation, and dust removal equipment. The second phase will then add the second 120-ton ladle furnace, with the public utility facilities already completed in the first phase.
