Japanese stainless steel output for 2005 is expected to be lower than that of 2004. According to estimates released, stainless steel output will reach 32.36 million tons, declining by 5.8% compared to the 34.34 million tons produced last year. As to stainless steel output in 2006, it is expected that the output will decline in the first quarter. It is predicted that output will again rise in the second and third quarters of next year. But Japanese stainless steel manufacturers will still face worsening situation. (Nov. 18)
