Market worries about economic recession have led to a decline in crude oil demand. International oil prices fell on Wednesday (July 6), hitting a new low in the recent 12 weeks.

West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery decreased by 1% to US$98.53/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery slid by 2%, settling at US$100.69/barrel.
