India's stainless steelmaker Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) plans an investment of Rs 40,000 crore to build a stainless steel manufacturing facility in the western state of Maharashtra.

The company recently submmited the investment proposal to the govermernt of Maharashtra and it will be a project development for the next ten years.

This planned stainless steel facility will include 4 million tons of capacity of melting. The construction plans will be in phases, and the first phase will be constructed in the next four years. It is expected to produce stainless steel flat products with varying grades, finishes, and thicknesses to serve different sectors.

The facility will also manufacture special grades of stainless steel for sectors including hydrogen, nuclear energy, defence, mobility, infrastructure, and process industries.
