India’s iron ore exports have decreased for five years in a row, as it dipped to 14.1 million tons in 2013 from 29.7 million tons in 2012.

The main reason for decline is due to an export ban for Goa iron ore miining.

India is currently the 10th largest exporter. India was the third biggest iron ore exporter to China behind only Australia and Brazil. However, exports of iron ore to China dropping to 11.98 million tons in 2013 from 27.22 million tons in 2012.

China is the biggest consumer of iron ore, accounting for nearly 80~90% in the world.
