According to the statement from Indian Ministry of Steel, the Ministry has excluded the possibility of setting a minimum import price (MIP) for all imported steel.

The Ministry indicated that although some steel industry required the implementation of MIP, the government believed that this was not necessary for immediate action.

The Minster of Indian Steel Ministry, Birender Singh, also indicated that common steel consumers should not be impacted by high price. The Ministry and the government would support steel industry, but not doing it by executing the MIP.
