Indian government keeps enhancing the export control of chrome ore by cutting the annual export quota to 400,000 tons this year from 300,000 tons.

Therefore, the export volume of chrome ore from India to China during January to July this year decreased by 36.6 percent of 587,000 tons

Meanwhile, the export volume from South Africa to China jumped up by 145 percent of 1 million tons. It is said that South African government also plans to control the chrome ore export but it was opposed by domestic mining industries including Samancor.
