Mr. H C Daga, Chairman of Indian Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI), India may import 1 million tons of iron ores per months in this fiscal year.

It’s known that the Indian government put ban on iron ore activity, making the country’s iron ore production fall and price rise.

Even the Indian Supreme Court has ruled to revoke the ban on iron ore activity in Karnataka state, it need around 1 year to resume operation.

Affected by these factors, the Indian steelmakers have no choices but to import iron ores to meet demand.
