It is reported that India Government planned to review and consider anti-dumping tax on steel imports from China.

Chinese currency devaluation forced the India Government to change its previous position and to consider exports to China India's anti-dumping tax on steel, due to China currency devaluation.

Earlier this month, India have objected to the Government to protect local steel mills, engineering industry complained that imports of steel for engineering product, which costs more expensive.

However, China's currency devaluation forced the steel Ministry to reconsider its position and has been with the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of finance to communicate concerns about increased competition.

On August 12, the India Government announced to increase tariffs on imports of steel products for the second time, from 10% to 12.5%.
