Hydro's Alumetal recycling plant in Kety, Poland, planned to activate solar panels in the second quarter of 2025, generating 1,000 MWh of electricity annually, meeting 15% of the plant's annual electricity needs, which is equivalent to power supply to about 100 average European households for a year.

This EUR 870,000 investment will increase the supply of renewable energy and support Hydro’s goal of reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2050.

Excess power will be sent to the local power grid for the surrounding use of clean energy.

Hydro's investment will be helpful in the European green transition.
