It is reported that Gerdau Corsa, the joint venture in Mexico of the Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau, will start soon its operation of the new plant in Sahagun City in Hidalgo, Mexico.

The new plant that finished the construction of 1st phase will focus on the rolled steel and the current production capacity is 1 million tons of steel and 700,000 tons of rolled products per year.

According to Gerdau Corsa, this new plant will serve civil construction and industry sectors in the country.

Currently, Gerdau Corsa has two other plants in Mexico with production capacity of 750,000 tons of steel per year and the new plant would double the company’s capacity.
