The market price of flat rolled carbon steel is increased by NT$1,000/ton in Taiwan market in order to reflect the cost rise from upstream mills.

As a result, the prices of hot rolled and cold rolled reach NT$21,500/ton and NT$23,500/ton respectively.

Although the prices are very high, the seller seems not active in selling their resource. Sellers believe the price will be increased further in view of the high price of import material and the shortage of supply situation in domestic market.

It is expected that the upstream mill will raise the benchmark price by NT$700/ton for March deliveries.
