Based on a survey on 247 steel mills in China with blast furnaces, it showed that the capacity utilization rate was close to 80% at 79.44%, which was about 0.35% up from the previous period and down by 9.29% year-on-year. The daily average molten iron output was around 2.23 million tons, an increase of 1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 180,000 tons roughly.

On the other hand, blast furnace ironmaking capacity utilization rate raised by 0.36% to 79.6%, dropped by 6.43% year-on-year. Overall, Chinese steel mills were about to earn 90.69% of profit but the ratio fell by 1.21.%. Also, 9 new blast furnaces were repaired and 12 blast furnaces were rebuilt.

The blast furnaces were mainly in the Shanxi area. The blast furnaces in Tangshan area were resumed production last week, and the national iron and steel production continued to increase.
