According to the report, MCC22, a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Corporation, would build a 100-ton electric arc furnace project for Tangshan Yanshan Iron and Steel Company within 330 days.

The project was located in Qian'an district, Tangshan City.

It mainly came from the quotas released by the 50t converter and the quotas purchased from Jinxi, Hebei.

The project would enable Yanshan Iron and Steel to increase its crude steel production capacity by 750,000 tons per year.

Other supporting facilities included 100t ladle furnace, a 100t refining furnace, and a slab caster.

The main product of Yanshan Iron & Steel was hot rolled coils (HRC), of which 5 blast furnaces and 6 converters could produce 6.67 million tons of iron per year and 7.9 million tons of crude steel.
