According to the report, China cut totaled about 730,000 tons of primary aluminium capacity in June to August 2018. Higher costs and lower aluminium prices were the main reasons.

Those primary aluminium manufactures included Lanzhou Liancheng Aluminium, Shaanxi Tongchuan Aluminum, and Shandong Zouping Aluminium.

It was a permanent cut about 900,000 tons of primary aluminium capacities up to present of this year. During the end of August, Chinese alumina spot price went down and remained a range between RMB 3,300 to 3,290 per ton roughly.
