AM/NS India expected demand for color-coated steel to grow by 8-10% annually, driven by needs in construction and appliance manufacturing. With current consumption at 3.2 million tons per year, this segment is growing faster than base-grade steel.

As the fourth largest steel producer in India, AM/NS India, a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, has introduced a new product called 'Optigal.' They planned to boost their production capacity from 700,000 to 1 million tons.

'Optigal' will start being produced in Pune and later at other facilities. The company is also looking at launching more products from ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel in India.
