American plate producers are raising its price in May by around US$110/ton.

Although a major American plate mill announced in March that they would be raising their price in May, with the markup beyond the buyer's expectations. The buyer expects the price to rise by about US$55/ton, but it could reach US$110/ton.

According to the data, the plate price raised by US$22/ton in January; US$33/ton in February; US$66/ton in March; US$88/ton in April; US$110/ton in May. The total rise in price reached US$319/ton and the price is expected to rise further.

At present, all steel prices remain active because raw material costs are up and there is a shortage of supply in market.
