It is reported that Ambatovy nickel project in Madagascar, one of the world’s largest nickel plan, is expected to launch its first commercial production in March of 2012.

It’s known that the project has been tested and completed recently.

The designed annual capacity of the project is at 60,000 tons and the operation rate is forecasted to reach about 70% in 2012 and hit 90% in 2013.

In the background, Sumitomo Corp, the big Japanese trading and investment firm has own 27.5% of the Ambatovy nickel project in Madagascar.

Sumitomo Corp. would be likely to focus on the first commercial production with confirming schedule in March and the company expected to gain profits in 2013 respectively.
