US launches AD & CVD investigation on common alloy aluminum sheets from 18 countries

On March 31st, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced that it launched the investigation of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) on common alloy aluminum sheets imported from Bahrain, Brazil, India and Turkey, and Croatia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Oman, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan were involved in the CVD investigation.
The investigation was launched based on the application filed by the Aluminum Association's Common Alloy Aluminum Sheet Trade Enforcement Working Group and several American companies, including Aleris Rolled Products, Inc., Arconic Inc., Constellium Rolled Products Ravenswood, LLC, JW Aluminum Company, Novelis Corporation and Texarkana Aluminum, Inc. on March 9th, 2020.
The products involved in this case were under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (HTSUS) 7606113060, 7606116000, 7606123090, 7606126000, 7606913090, 7606913095, 7606916080, 7606916095, 7606923035, 7606923090, 7606926080 and 7606926095.
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) was expected to make a preliminary ruling of industrial injury about this case no later than April 23rd, 2020.
