Mutún Steel Company, the only steelmaker in Bolivia, has produced approximately 50 tons of steel rebar in the testing phase.

Jorge Alvarado, president of the company, stated that this production corresponds to the experimental stage, which is not yet for sale to the domestic market. A quality certification process is currently underway to enable its steel products to be sold to both domestic and international markets.

Mutún Steel Company has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of rebar and wire rod, with the goal of replacing 50% of imports of these products.
