Taiwan’s rebar prices expected to climb

16 May 2025 16:41 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Supported by strong order books and increasing raw material costs, Taiwan’s rebar prices are expected to rise next week. Market participants predicted a potential increase ranging from NT$300 to NT$500 per ton. This anticipated upward adjustment followed a significant surge in trading activity, driven by previously undervalued rebar prices and an improvement in market sentiment.

The recent rebound in international scrap prices, with US scrap returning to US$300/ton, further supported the projected price hike. Both upstream suppliers and downstream consumers are closely monitoring the extent of the upcoming price adjustment.
