Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency has shut down five rolling mills in Lahore because of the air pollution issues in these mills.

Ali Ijaz, deputy director of the Environment Protection Department (EPD), said the mills were shut down because they used substandard fuel and emitted excessive black smoke as a result.

Rolling mills that have been shut down included the Waqar & Aslam Auto Engineering, Ideal Steel Re-Rolling Mill, Fakeer Hussein Steel Re-Rolling Mill, Sohail Steel Re-Rolling Mill and Imran Siraj Steel Re-Rolling Mill.
