According to the report, the US Secretary of Commerce announced last Friday that Commerce Department issued an initial anti-dumping duty on aluminum foil from China as it believed that China’s exporters sold the foil products with prices below costs.

The duties were ranged from 96.81% to 162.24%, and the final anti-dumping determination will be announced on February 23rd, 2018.

Also, the US Customs and Border Protection will request cash deposits from imports for the aluminum foils on the preliminary rates.

The total value of aluminum foils to the US was about US$389 million in 2016. The US foil producers requested the petition with the US government as foil product was dumped from China.

In August 2017, the Commerce Department already announced it found the imports of aluminum foils were subsidized.
