US based AK Steel Holding Corp. has announced it's surcharges for stainless steel and electrical steel products by US$230/ton up for April shipment.

The reason to increase the price is to offset the higher cost of raw materials and energy, said the company.

The company had upped US$180/ton for surcharge in February from it was US$150/ton in January.

In terms of carbon steel, the price of HR will be increased by US$30/short ton, when US$20/short ton for CR and coated steel, for all new orders and shipment after April 1, 2007.
