Three Bolivian ministers were kidnapped and held for 16 hours by protestors supporting the EBX pig iron project. The project involves the installation of an 800, 000 tpy pig iron plant by EBX Siderurgica Bolivian, EBX and Bolivian government. The project was not approved on the grounds that the Brazilian company is illegally sited in a frontier where only majority owned Brazilian companies can operate. Protesters are angry saying that the project will create many job opportunities. (Apr. 20)
