The US announced that it would implement a 10% baseline tariff and reciprocal tariffs on specific countries with which the US has the largest trade deficits, effective from April 5 and April 9, respectively.

Taiwan faces a reciprocal tariff of 32%. China Steel Corporation (CSC) stated that steel and aluminum products are still subject to Section 232’s 25% tariff, so the impact will be limited. However, if the US economy or consumer market fluctuates, demand in the steel industry chain may be affected.

CSC said that Taiwan exported around 924,000 tons of steel and related products to the US last year. It will closely monitor subsequent policy changes to ensure stable supply and customer interests.
