On October 7, 2024, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) launched an expiry review of an anti-dumping (AD) order on hot-rolled carbon steel plates and high-strength low-alloy steel plates from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Romania to see whether the withdrawal of the existing AD order on the subject products will be likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping or injury to the domestic industry.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will make a determination no later than March 6, 2025. If the determination is positive, the CITT will make a ruling to confirm if the continued or resumed dumping will occur to harm the domestic industry or not by August 13, 2025.

The products involved are hot-rolled carbon steel plates and high-strength low-alloy steel plates not further manufactured than hot rolled, heat-treated or not, in cut lengths in widths from 24 inches to 152 inches inclusive and in thicknesses from 0.187 inches to 4 inches inclusive.
