Nippon Steel confirmed that it planned to open a new continuous hot-dip galvanizing line at East Nippon Works in Kimitsu, Chiba in the first quarter of next year.

The new production line, which has been delayed by more than six months, was designed to provide more ultra-high-tensile steel to Japan's recovering car industry.

The company had planned to start the production line from July to September this year, but the plan was delayed due to the uncertainty caused by the epidemic in the Japanese economy.

The new production line will be used mainly for the construction of automobile parts, and the sample steel has been sent to the automobile manufacturer for relevant testing.
