Acciaieria di Cividate al Piano (ACP), Italy’s steel manufacturer, announced that it has signed a supply agreement with the subsidiary of JSW Steel Italy S.r.l. in Piombino, which planned to supply 200,000 tons of billets yearly.

The billets provided by ACP would be mainly used to manufacture wire rods and section steel so that the subsidiary of JSW Steel Italy could subsequently export finished products to North Africa. The two companies started cooperation a few months ago when ACP supplied 60,000 tons of billets and technicians to meet the needs of the subsidiary of JSW Steel Italy.

The subsidiary of JSW Steel Italy, formerly known as Aferpi, was acquired by JSW Steel Italy from the Algerian group Cevital in the summer of 2018.

JSW Steel Italy's monthly output was about 60,000 tons this year and was expected to increase to 80,000 tons in 2020. The company also planned to spend about EUR 50 million on its new rolling mill and rail quenching plant.
