It was reported that the European Commission (EC) has cut down the planned increase in tariff-free steel quotas from 5% to 3% for all product categories. The total quotas available will be limited to 31.6 million tons during the third period.

For hot-rolled coils, the EC will also establish a limitation of 30% to the share in the global quota. The EC also planned to amend the quotas for hot-dip galvanized products.

Besides, imports into the 4B quota can put into the end usage of the automotive sector. India will get a country-specific quota for 4A because India didn't export many auto-grade galvanized steel.
