The CRU price index in the US was 48.7 last week, having decreased 1.3 percent compared to last week and 2.1 percent compared to last month.

In regard to the flat market, the price has remained stable this week and the HR coil price from a middle-west manufacturer is US$520/short ton; CR US$620/short ton; and HDG US$700/short ton.

Now, America’s steel sheet stock is comparatively low and supply is insufficient. The weak supply can not support the whole market, so America’s steel sheet price is on the low side.

For heavy plate, as the construction industry requirement remains weak, the high price can not be maintained further; the price will fall over the short period, and is expected to remain stable in the Q2.
