Reportedly, the recent anti-China riots in Vietnam over a territorial dispute between the two countries in the South China Sea has caused significant impact to the operation of Formosa Ha Tinh steel mill in Vietnam under Taiwan's Formosa Plastics Group (FPG).

Mr. William Wong - Chairman of FPG made the remarks after attending a shareholder meeting of the group's Formosa Petrochemical Corporation that the operation of the mill's no. 1 furnace - originally scheduled to go online by the end of 2015, could be delayed if the company's Chinese workers fail to return to work in two months.

The riots has resulted four Chinese workers hired by FPG from China Metallurgical Group Corporation died and more than 100 were injured, further making three thousand other Chinese employees of the steel mill return to China.
