The quotation for China's thick plates exported to South Korea market stays at the high end recently. It is reported that some of large mills have stopped to quote for Feburary exporting price to South Korean market. This is because the price of European thick plates is at a higher level compared with the price for Korea market. Chinese steel mills increase therefore their focus on European market. Quotation for April shipments from Jiangxi & East China’s mills is US$600/mt and US$550/mt respectively. The other mills are just waiting & looking for any further changes and it is expected that the export tax rebate policy may induce the further quotations from China’s steel mills.(Dec.18)
