According to the statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), Turkey produced around 2.8 million tons of crude steel in February, up by 8.7% year on year.

The production of crude steel from 64 countries counted in the worldsteel’s statistics totaled around 131.8 million tons in February, up by 3.5% compared to the same month a year ago. Among them, the production from China accounted for almost half, with the total of around 65 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%.

India and Japan ranked second and third with the crude steel production exceeding 8 million tons, followed by the US and South Korea with the production of 6.4 million tons and 5.4 million tons, respectively.

Among the EU countries, German crude steel production ranked first with around 3.3 million tons.
