thyssenkrupp Materials Services opened a new service center in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with an investment of US$37 million, on January 25, 2024.

This new site is equipped with a Schuler cutting line for handling aluminum and high-strength steel used in vehicle manufacturing, catering to the evolving needs of the automotive industry in North America. The advanced capabilities of this new investment also show a focus on sustainability, electromobility, and supply chain resilience.

Meanwhile, this facility is supposed to be part of thyssenkrupp Materials Services’ US$100 million investment plan in North America over the past 15 months. Together with the other three facilities in Saltillo, Puebla, and Silao, the company has steadily expanded its market presence in this region.

The San Luis Potosí site is to commence operations on February 15, 2024, creating around 65 jobs for Mexican people.
