The coking plant Koksownia Przyjaźń in Poland, part of JSW KOKS S.A., has ceremonially ignited its newly constructed coke oven battery No. 4, which marked the final phase of the investment project.

The new battery has an annual capacity of 610,000 tons, making it the most modern in Europe. It features an energy-efficient coking technique and a unique gas exhaust system meeting EU environmental standards. Notably, it includes a massive 1,200-ton feeder machine and Poland's first combination of packed loading with a dry coke cooling unit.

JSW KOKS President Jerzy Wolinski said that the project showed how heavy industry can modernize, reduce its carbon footprint, and lead in sustainable development.
