According to the report, due to the oversupply, Norsk Hydro will close two aluminum extrusion plants in the United States.

It was reported that the extrusion plants that will be closed soon were the Kalamazoo extrusion plant in Michigan and the Belton extrusion plant in South Carolina. In addition, Hydro has now moved its operations to other plants in North America to reduce the potential impact on customers.

Hydro has multiple business units in the United States and 6,630 employees in 30 locations across the United States. It was estimated that approximately 150 employees in the Belton extrusion plant will be affected.
