Virbhadra Singh, Union Minister of Steel in India, predicted that steel prices will drop substantially within the following two or three months and then become stable.

Besides, Indian government has raised the export duty on iron ore lumps by 5 percent to protect its domestic supplies.

Meanwhile, the government also raised taxes on iron ore imports by 10~15 percent to reduce iron ore exports to China.
