German Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) announced that production is “almost at full capacity.” This is after they were forced to halt production due to a hot metal spill. HKM is 50 percent owned by ThyssenKrupp Stahl with Mannesmannrohren-Werke holding a 30 percent stake and the remaining 20 percent is owned by the seamless tube joint venture Vallourec & Mannesmann. HKM did have some difficulty with repair works. They had some trouble in locating some replacement electronic equipment. This caused the company to predict a return to full production in early February. In fact, this incident will impact the production output and the company hopes to reach its normal production level soon. (Feb. 8)
