On Thursday, BHP Billiton, one of the largest mining companies, appointed Mike Henry to replace Andrew Mackenzie as CEO, ignoring the call for investors to look for a new leader from the other companies.

Mackenzie took over BHP Billiton for nearly seven years, during which he made a comprehensive reform in the company, which striped large assets and reduced costs significantly.

Henry joined BHP Billiton in 2003 and has been responsible for the Australian business during the past three years, including iron ore business, the biggest source of revenue, and the world's largest coking coal business.
