It’s reported that the Australia’s iron ore exports are expected to rise by 9% to reach 479 million tons in 2012, driven by the expansion of new production.

It’s known that Rio Tinto planned to commission new mine projects this year and BHP Billiton has continued rising output rapidly.

It’s known that Australia’s iron ore exports increased by 14% year on year to reach 463 million tons in the fiscal year 2011/12. The export values generated by iron ore rose by 8% to hit US$63 billion.

In the fiscal year 2012/13, it’s expected that Australia’s iron ore export would rise by 10% to 510 million tons and the export values would reach US$67 billion, increasing by 7% year on year.
