The US subsidiary of Japan’s Kobe Steel Ltd, is expecting to open their new plant on Friday. Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products LLC said the new plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky will raise their aluminum alloy forgings capacity and help meet the strong demands from automakers. Kobe Aluminum is a joint venture between Kobe Steel, Mitsui & Co and Toyota Tsusho Corp. The company is also planning to set up another new plant that will be completed in December this year. The aluminum alloy products of Kobe Aluminum are used in car suspension systems. The use of aluminum alloy suspension arms will make cars lighter, more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.
