German steel producer Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) ordered an LD converter (BOF) relining machine from Primetals Technologies. The new machine was expected to be put into operation in June 2024 and will replace a 30-year-old and outdated machine at HKM's steel plant in Duisburg, Germany.

The new machine's design meets HKM's needs regarding state-of-the-art ergonomics, staff access via a separate elevator, as well as an automated working platform.

Also, Primetals Technologies will be responsible for engineering, manufacturing, implementing, and providing advisory services for the installation and startup of the new machine.
