Yieh Phui Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Yieh Phui), a leading coating steel mill in Taiwan, announced its new prices yesterday (December 30). Due to the approaching Lunar New Year off-season and conservative demand, the domestic sales price of galvanized and pre-painted steel products for January 2025 and the export price of February 2025 remained flat.

The company pointed out that the World Steel Association predicted that the global steel demand growth rate in 2025 will be only 1.2%, and the US tariff policy may intensify. However, after Trump takes office, US priority policies and corporate tax cuts may drive the recovery of the manufacturing industry and investment growth, which is beneficial to the development of the steel market.

In addition, the PMI of China's manufacturing industry in November reached 50.3%, the blast furnace operating rate was stable at above 80%, steel inventories fell, and the depreciation of East Asian currencies benefited exports, indicating that market demand still exists, bringing confidence to recovery next year.
