The World Stainless Steel Association has announced the winners of its 2025 Stainless Steel Industry Awards.

POSCO secured Gold in both the Safety and Technology categories, the latter for its ultra grain-refined austenitic stainless steel with high strength and good corrosion resistance for battery cases.

Acerinox won Gold in Market Development for its lightweight duplex stainless steel beverage keg called Vertex Keg and Silver in Safety for its new developments in psychosocial management for a steel plant and Technology for its JAG Plate Heat Exchangers.

Nippon Steel Corporation received Gold for the Sustainability category due to its application of duplex stainless steel to the cargo hold of general cargo ship Toshinmaru, and Silver for the Market Development category for its lining on water release equipment of the Aso Tateno Dam.

North American Stainless earned Bronze in Safety for its caster area stopper arm, while Nippon Yakin took Bronze in Sustainability for its environmental improvement and efficiency enhancement in slab penetrant testing work.
