Since the beginning of this year, the average reference sales of North American long products has increased by 34%.

In Western Europe, steel prices in US dollars have only increased by 3.5% over the same period. In Asia, the price of similar products increased by 6.5%.

Due to the increase in tariffs, the domestic steel price increase was greater than the increase in import prices. Due to cost considerations, domestic steel downstream users intended to purchase imported steel from foreign markets. This is inconsistent with the original intention of the United States to impose a tariff under Section 232.
