The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) found that Indian corrosion-resistant steel manufacturers and exporters received Indian government's subsidy during the investigation period. The final countervailing duty (CVD) rate for JSW Steel was 11.3% and Uttam Galva was set at 588.43%.

According to the US Court of International Trade’s decision, the USDOC previously lowered the tax rate to 4.24% for JSW Steel in 2018 November and the rate for Uttam Galva was set at 8% in 2016.

In January 2018, the US' steel mills claimed that JSW Steel and Uttam Galva were favored from new subsidy project from Indian government, and those subsidy didn't have solution from the previous investigation before.

The latest investigation period was from November 6th, 2015 to December 31st, 2016.
