American Cleveland-Cliffs announced that it would suspend production and operations at its Northshore mine in Minnesota and the Tilden mine in Michigan due to the sluggish market condition.

Lourenco Goncalves, the CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs stated that a large number of manufacturers and steel production have been interrupted therefore he decided to adjust the company’s iron ore output in the first half of this year, which would not be accumulated continuously until the market situation improve.

Cleveland-Cliffs, the largest independent iron ore mining company in the US, which owned five iron ore pellet manufacturing companies and was a major supplier of iron ore pellets to the North American steel industry.
