According to the statistics from Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey produced around 3 million tons of crude steel in April, down by 12.3% month on month, also down by 3.1% year on year.

Among them, the crude steel production from electric furnaces decreased by 3.5% compared to the same month a year ago, and that from blast furnaces dropped by 2% compared to the same month a year earlier.

In the first 4 months this year, the production of Turkish crude steel totaled around 12.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%.

Among them, the production from electric furnaces was around 8.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7%; that from blast furnaces was around 4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1%.
