Tata Steel Europe, a subsidiary of Indian steelmaker Tata Steel, announced that its steel service center in Halmstad, Sweden, had become fully carbon neutral in terms of production-related emissions.

Using steel from Tata Steel's IJmuiden steelworks in the Netherlands, the service center supplied the automotive industry with quality products and is now helping Tata Steel achieve its goal of being fully carbon neutral by 2045.

In order to achieve this goal, the company not only signed 100% green contracts with energy suppliers but also replaced the existing dehumidifiers with electric dehumidifiers in 2022 to completely avoid the use of natural gas.

Tata Steel's ambition is to become a climate-neutral steel producer by 2045.
